Scott B. Poor, Esq. is an attorney, consulting planner and public affairs consultant with 15 years experience in business, law and government. Poor is veteran of four renewable energy startups.  From 2007 to 2010, Poor was Corporate Counsel and Assistant Secretary for Green Plains Renewable Energy (NASDAQ: GPRE), the nation’s largest publicly-traded ethanol producer. Poor was an attorney with the Kansas City land use law firm White Goss Bowers March Schulte and Weisenfels. He served for three years as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Kansas.  Poor served one term as Executive Director and General Counsel for the Republican Party of Kansas. In 2004, the National Journal named him a “rising star” in Kansas politics. 
 
Poor is a graduate of the University of Tulsa law school.  He is licensed to practice law in Kansas and Missouri. Poor holds a graduate degree in rural planning from Kansas State University and attended the Monterey Institute of International Studies.  Poor has an undergraduate degree from Southern Methodist University.  Poor is a graduate of the Kansas Agriculture and Rural Leadership program.
 
Poor grew up in rural southwest Kansas. Poor is married to Tonya Taylor of Dewey, OK.  Poor's wife and children are enrolled Cherokee.The family currently resides in the Wichita area.
